Rev. James William Brown, 94, lifelong resident of Eldorado passed away Friday, September 7, 2018 at the Wabash Christian Village in Carmi. Jim was born October 12, 1923 in Eldorado to the late James O. and Fae (Funkhouser) Brown. On May 15, 1948 he married the former Juanelle Kanady who preceded him in death July 29, 2016. Jim was a Corporal in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a parts manager working in the mining industry for most of his life before retirement. He was a member of Star General Baptist Church. Jim is survived by two children: James E. (Brenda) Brown of Eldorado, Patti (Mark) Burpo of Washington, two grandchildren: Cari (Greg) Randel of Mt. Vernon, IN, Erik Burpo of Washington, four great grandchildren: Jordan, Waynetta, Connor and Taylor. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a brother: Robert Brown and two sisters: Allena Kingsley, Nina Haas. Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Star General Baptist Church with Rev. Aaron Phelps officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 am to service time at the church. Burial will be in Lindale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Wabash Christian Village and will be accepted at the church.
