Obituary for Paul Doherty Paul Doherty, 97, of Union, passed away on April 2, 2018 at Winship Green in Bath. Paul was born on April 19, 1920 to Patrick Doherty and Rose (McNulty) Doherty in Revere, Massachusetts. Paul grew up and attended local schools in the Revere area. He was a proud Marine. He moved to Maine in 1950 and married Marion in 1953. Paul became a purchasing agent at Bicknell Manufacturing Company in Rockland, Maine. He also held many part time jobs, his favorite being teaching music lessons. Paul enjoyed golfing with his grandchildren. He was the president of Knox Suburban Little League and a member of the Windjammers Barbershop Chorus. He was the oldest living resident and veteran of Union prior to his death. He will always be remembered as a wonderful, kind, loving husband and father. He is predeceased by his wife, Marion Doherty, sister Ann Terrill and brother Robert Doherty. Paul is survived by his daughters Deidre Wallace, Patricia Arsenault, Margo Bedell, Pamela Sawyer, Carole Redd, sons Timothy Doherty, Patrick Doherty, Dennis Doherty, Ashley Hubbard, 24 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held for family and friends on Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main Street, Waldoboro. Interment will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with military honors at Lake View Cemetery in Union. The family requests that donations may be made in Paul’s name to the Pope Memorial Humane Society, 25 Buttermilk Lane, Thomaston, Maine 04861. Arrangements are with Hall’s of Waldoboro.
