Nellie Burbridge, 95, of New Albany, IN, formerly of Columbia, died Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Rolling Hills Healthcare in New Albany. She was born September 17, 1922 in Crocus, Kentucky to the late Tom & China Williams Staton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Burbridge; three sons, Roy Mitchell Burbridge, Charles Marshall Burbridge & Ronald David Burbridge; two brothers, Allen & James Staton; six sisters, Nora Staton, Josie McWhorter, Sally Stone, Rachel James, Dorothy Jumper & Opal Lambert; and two grandchildren, Raymond & Barry Burbridge. She was a member of Phillips Chapel AOH Church of God in Louisville, an ordained minister and a homemaker. Survivors Include: One Daughter – Joyce Burbridge of Jeffersonville, IN Four Grandchildren – Jeannetta Burbridge, Gregory Burbridge, Donna Taylor (Don) Ford & Jocelyn Burbridge A host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews & other relatives & friends also survive Funeral Service – Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bishop Norman Dukes delivering the eulogy Burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery Visitation from 5 – 8 P.M.
