Obituary of Morris Haynes Morris Matthews Haynes, 82 of Girard, IL passed away Monday evening, September 3, 2018, at his residence. Matt was born October 20, 1935, in Harned, KY, one of twelve children born to Morris and Margaret (Burington) Haynes. He married Donna Brown on December 24, 1955 in Franklin, IL. Matt served in the Korean War from 1955 to 1957. Matt worked as a barber in Springfield, IL. His last shop was Matts Barber Shop in Springfield and had barbered for over 44 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and farming in his spare time. Matt was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Mabry, brothers; Kenneth, Cloyd, Ernie and Calvin and sisters; Anna Laura Lebaroff, Gladys Scribner, Ella Morton Potts and Caroline Butler. Visitation will be held, Thursday, September 6, 2018, from 4:00 to 7:00 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard, IL. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 am, Friday, September 7, 2018 at the funeral home with Rev. Victor Angulo. Burial will follow in Girard Cemetery. Matt is survived by his wife, Donna of Girard, IL, daughter, Vicki (Jim) Ploskonka of Girard, IL, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, sister, Rita Van Dyke of GA, sister, Louise Haynes of Jacksonville, IL, sister, Darlene Losik of Mt. Washington, KY, and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Alzeheimers Association or American Heart Association.
