Mary Jane Garwood 1925 2018

Obituary of Mary Garwood Mary Jane Garwood, 93, Mishawaka (formerly from LaFontaine), went to be with the Lord at 11:49 a.m. on Monday, September 17, 2018, at Tanglewood Trace in Mishawaka. She was born in Huntington on May 26, 1925, to the late Orvel and Helen (Geible) Alexander. On October 11, 1952, she wed Donald Garwood, and they shared 58 years together before he passed away in November of 2010. Jane graduated from Huntington High School and attended one year at DePauw University in Greencastle. She worked at REMC and was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), where she was actively involved in Church Women United and many good causes. She was well-traveled and enjoyed country living and playing piano. She is survived by her daughters, Carol Brown, Huntington, Gloria (Robert) Redic, Double Springs, Alabama, Judy (Thomas) Francis, Mishawaka, and Donna (John) Ervin, Roanoke, Texas; son, Duane Garwood, Huntington; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister, Barbara McDowell, Huntington. The family will have a graveside service for Mary at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 21, 2018, at Gardens of Memory. Pastor Roslyn Harrison will be officiating.
