Obituary for Maria A. Graham Maria Annette Graham, 27, of Sandy Lake passed away at home on September 15, 2018. Maria was born on June 6, 1991 in Guatemala City, Guatemala. She was adopted by Lester and Karen Graham at age 3 months. She became a US citizen in 1993. Maria was baptized at North Sandy Presbyterian Church. She recently was attending the Sandy Lake Wesleyan Church. Maria attended Christian Life Academy and then went to Franklin Area High School where she graduated in 2010. She also graduated from Venango Technology Center in 2010, and she then attended Laurel Technical Institute where she earned her Cosmetology license and an associate degree in business management. Maria had a happy and active childhood. She was a Girl Scout, cheerleader, a Franklin Knightette and a twirler in Starlite Xpress. She played the flute and piano. She went to dancing school, gymnastics, summer camp, vacation bible school and many other activities in her youth. She was currently employed by Kristyak’s Korner in Sandy Lake. She is survived by her son Amir Poindexter; parents Lester and Karen Graham of Polk; a brother, Stephen Graham and wife Anitra of Slippery Rock; a sister, Kayleen Graham, fiancé Drake Eakin and a nephew Oliver Eakin of Franklin. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin where family and friends are welcome from 12 – 2 PM on Saturday, September 22, 2018. A Memorial Service will take place in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 P.M. Saturday.
