Mrs. Lillie Mae Stuckey Robinson was born on September 17, 1938 in Johnsonville, South Carolina. She was the daughter of William P. and Ruth Woodberry Stuckey. She departed this life on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Carolinas Hospital System after an illness. Lillie attended the public schools of Florence County. At an early age, she became a member of St. Mark African Methodist Episcopal Church in Johnsonville, South Carolina. In February 1958, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Reverend Dr. Preston Robinson, Jr., and to this union, three children were born. Lillie served faithfully beside her husband as a former First Lady of several churches: Goodland African Methodist Episcopal Church of Effingham, SC; Mt. Pleasant African Methodist Episcopal Church of Elliot, SC; St. Matthews African Methodist Episcopal Church of Lynchburg, SC; St. Peters African Methodist Episcopal Church of Mayesville, SC Union African Methodist Episcopal Church of Lake View, SC; and Bethel Hill African Methodist Episcopal Church of Latta, SC. She later joined Central United Methodist Church, where she remained until the decline of her health. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Curtis Preston Robinson, III, and one great grand, William Preston Rouse. Those left to cherish her precious memories include: her husband, Reverend Dr. Preston Robinson, Jr. of the home; two daughters, Juanita Hickman and Lillie (Jimmy) Brown, both of Florence, SC; one son, Le’Shawn (Lissa) Robinson of Florence, SC; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grands; one daughter-in-law, Cynthia Robinson of Florence, SC; one brother, J.W. (Ella Mae) Stuckey) of Florence, SC; two sisters, Annie Ruth Eaddy and Ruby Robinson, both of Florence, SC; one sister-in-law, Bertha Lee Stuckey; three goddaughters: Annie Mae Bailey of Florence, SC; Emma Lee of Latta, SC; and Sandra Jones of Darlington, SC ; special cousin, Randolph (Griselda) Robinson; special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Will King; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
