Obituary for Leona Church (Minton) Leona Church, age 93, of Granite Falls, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 3, 2018, at Trinity Village. She was born October 3, 1924, daughter of the late Schuyler and Dona Cleary Minton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Arley James Church; one son, Billy Jean Church; three brothers, Elisha Minton, Troy Minton, and Doughton Minton; two sisters, Veona Price and Annie Raynor; one granddaughter, Christy Tredway; one son-in-law, Paul David Smith. Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, James Sydney Church (Carri) of Sherrills Ford and Dennis Ray Church (Marsha) of Conover; one daughter, Linda Kay (Katie) Smith of Conover; three sisters, Margie Church of Sawmills, Lucille Huffman of Granite Falls and Mary Ann O’Brien of Valdese; seven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, September 7, 2018, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church, Rhodhiss. The funeral will follow at 3:00 PM with Rev. Rick Miller and Rev. David Smith officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
