Lawrence “Richard” Cline, 88, of Howland, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 27, 2018 at home. He was born September 11, 1930 in West Virginia, the son of Albert P. and Ethel L. (Canfield) Cline, and had lived in Ohio since 1955. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Richard worked in quality control for Amweld. He was a faithful servant to the Lord and a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Niles, and enjoyed fishing, boating, skiing, and swimming. He is sadly missed by his loving wife of nearly 68 years, Peggy Ann (Cool) Cline, whom he married November 11, 1950; two children, Judy (Dennis) Lowstetter of Xenia and Lawrence Richard Cline, Jr. of Waynesville; four grandchildren: Michael Lowstetter, Matthew (Melissa) Lowstetter, Lisa (Christopher) Perry, and Timothy (Noelle) Cline; fifteen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Maxine Moore of Bradenton, Fla. Preceding him in death are his parents and two brothers, Albert “Jack” and George Cline. Services are 11:00 am Monday, October 1, 2018 at First Baptist Church, 26 E. Church St., Niles, with Rev. David Burman, Jr. and Rev. G. Ben Reed officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Howland Township Cemetery. Friends may call 10:00 to 11:00 am Monday at the church.
