Kenneth C. Pfaff, 95, of 424 Delaware Rd., Fredonia, (Delaware Twp.), PA, formerly of Cowansville, PA, Bonita Springs, FL, and Transfer, PA, passed away peacefully at 7:00 am on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Greystone Country Estates in Fredonia. He was born in Atlantic, PA on May 26, 1923 to the late, Calvin and Ada (Cooper) Pfaff. Ken was the youngest of 11 children. He married Mary Jane (Pickering) on September 20, 1945 and in 2015, they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.… Read More » She passed away in June 2016. Ken was a graduate of East Fallowfield High School, where he told stories about riding a horse to school. He had a great love of the water, including annual fishing trips into Canada. Ken also enjoyed boating and was a great slalom water-skier. He made a round board to tow behind the boat and would ride on it while sitting on the kitchen stool. Ken and his wife invited the Pfaff cousins to their home yearly, along the Allegheny River, for a weekend of boating and visiting. He also enjoyed traveling, as he had visited 48 states, and spending time with his dog, Reggie. Ken spent many weeks at the Mercer County 4-H with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A strong work ethic, that began on the Pfaff family farm, followed him through life. Ken worked at Westinghouse, O.D. Anderson, and retired from Warner & Smith Trucking. Never content sitting still, he also worked numerous side jobs into his retirement, including: Reynolds Drive-In, grocery bagging, furniture delivery, baked goods delivery, and more. Ken is survived by: two children, son, Ron Pfaff (Jill Beilstein) of Greenville, PA, and daughter, Cheryl Melvin (Norman) of Greenville, PA; four grandchildren, Debbie Schreiber (Mark) of Hadley, PA, Josh Melvin (Margaret Owens) of Greenville, PA, Amy Pfaff (Jason Armour) of New Wilmington, PA, and Michelle Minor (Richard) of Greenville, PA; eight great-grandchildren, Adam Peterson, Marissa Peterson, Cody Schreiber, Shelby Johnston (Eric), Timmy Minor, Jesse Melvin, Brooke Schreiber, and Jaden Melvin; two great-great-grandchildren, Carter and Tawnie Peterson; as well as numerous good friends, including Cassie Peyer and Wayne Eicher, and Bob and Norma Schneider. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by 10 siblings and a great-grandson, Bryce Schreiber.
