Jurgen “Jerry” Shaw, born in Germany as Hans Jurgen Shaw on August 30, 1948 to Emily Johanna (Doepp) and the late Robert DuWayne Shaw, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was 70. Jurgen grew up in post WWII Germany in a tiny little town of Ludwigshafen. At the age of 7, Jerry and his parents came to America, settled first in Uniontown and then Moon Township when his father joined the airlines headquartered in Moon Township. He was part of the Moon Area High School Debate Team. Jerry later made Coraopolis his home. Some would consider Jerry to have a very discerning eye which made him an excellent photographer, collector and antique dealer and a critical inspector for Pittsburgh Forgings. Always a worker, after high school, he worked as a manager at Winkies and later he was a manager for the Bake Haus. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sisters Peggy Shaw of Moon Township and Bobbie Metzler (Michael) of Columbia, SC; two nephews Jonathan (Beth) and Joshua; special friend Kathy Barry. His faithful German Shephard, Fritz, preceded him in death. Visitation Saturday from 11 AM until time of Blessing Service at 12 Noon at Copeland’s Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Rd. Celebrant Father Sean Francis. Further visitation will continue until 2 PM after his Blessing. Burial will be private in, his home land, Germany.
