Obituary of Julie Boyd Julie Joy Boyd, 55, passed away at home Friday, September 7th after a courageous two-year battle with breast cancer. Her loving family was by her side. Julie was born March 6th, 1963 in Sheldon, IA. She grew up in Sioux Falls, graduating from Washington High School in 1981. Her post-secondary education began at Stewart’s School of Hair Styling where she graduated with her Cosmetology degree in 1982. Julie later earned her Real Estate License in 1990. Her greatest pride was graduating with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design degree from O’More College of Design in Franklin, TN in 2007. Julie married Curtis William Boyd on June 29th, 1985 in Sioux Falls, SD. Curtis, her true love, has been a source of strength and support throughout her life. Their son Ryan William was born December 23, 1986 in Cedar Rapids, IA and daughter Alexandria Nicole was born November 27, 1989 in Cedar Rapids, IA. Their pride and joy, grandson Noah William, was born April 23, 2012 in Grapevine, TX. Their life together has been filled with many memorable moments, adventures, and family vacations. Over the years Julie and her family made several moves allowing Julie to use her gift of building and designing multiple beautiful homes. With her attention to detail and design, several professional contractors marveled at the homes after completing Julie’s blueprints. Julie and her family have settled in Colleyville, TX for the past 13 years. Julie has always had an open door for family and friends. Julie took pride in serving her Lord and being involved with her church on projects such as Embrace Grace, Freedom Ministry, and Home Makeovers. Julie was a member of Lake Cypress Springs Tall Tree Home Owner’s Board of Directors. She enjoyed spending time at her lake home where she was blessed with many cherished friendships. Julie also looked forward to meeting with her quilting family, The Raveled Thread Quilting Bee, and her creative talent was reflected in the many beautiful quilts she completed. Julie’s commitment to the Lord, her family and friends, and all of humanity was evident in her daily actions. She influenced and inspired each life she touched and was a woman of grace, strength and pure love. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband Curtis, son Ryan, daughter Alexandria and grandson Noah, all of Colleyville, TX. Other survivors include her “Daddy” Les Lameyer, Sioux Falls, SD; siblings Jerry (Mary) Freeman, Arnolds Park, IA; Jeffrey (Cindy) Freeman, Sheldon, IA ; Jane Freeman Baker (Steven); Jamie Lameyer; Dale (Sherry) Lameyer; Debra Wallenberg; and Diane Lameyer (fiance Bob Houck), all of Sioux Falls, SD; her in-laws Jerry and Sharon Boyd, Plankinton, SD; brother-in-law Steven Boyd, Fisher, MN; sister-in-law Brenda (Stuart) Cazer, Mitchell, SD; sister-in-law Kim (Craig) Paulsen, Freeman, SD, and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her mother Virginia Lameyer, her father Joe Freeman, brother-in-law Steven Wallenberg and paternal and maternal grandparents. Julie will have two celebrations of Life: The first will be held at Gateway Church 700 Blessed Way Southlake, TX on Thursday September 13th at 2:30 pm. The second will be at First Reformed Church 4800 S Tomar Rd, Sioux Falls, SD on Saturday September 22nd at 11:00am followed by reception at Cherry Creek Grill 3104 E 26th St, Sioux Falls, SD In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Embrace Grace at Gateway Church, 700 Blessed Way, Southlake, TX 76092
