Julia Ann Schuman, 86, of Midwest City, Oklahoma died August 30, 2018 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. She was born October 29, 1931 in New York, New York to Charles and Mary Traynor. She enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1952 serving in Chapel Management. A highlight of her service was participating in the “Top in Blue” program winning many awards for her singing. She met the love of her life, Jack Schuman in Minneapolis, MN where they both were stationed. They were married June, 22, 1957.… Read More » Julie left the service shortly thereafter to be a military spouse and mother living all around the country. After Jack’s retirement from the Air Force, they settled in Midwest City where Julie was able to resume her military career in the Air Force reserve. She retired in October 1991 with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. Julie was the first women in Chapel Management career field to achieve the rank of “Chief”! She was an active member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, St Vincent de Paul Society, Republican Women’s Club and Women’s Veteran Organization. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Flossie Muldoon, and husband, Jack. She is survived by her children, Peggy (Chris) Browne, OKC, Michael Schuman, OKC, Charles Schuman, MWC, Paul (Judy) Schuman, OKC, and Debra (James) Love, Choctaw; sisters, Maureen Case, Hudson, Co and Margaret Arnold, New Haven, CT. 8 Grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A wake service will be held on Monday, September 3, 2018 at 7:00 PM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church with interment following at Resurrection Cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul society c/o St. Philip Neri Church, Women’s Veteran organization, or charity of your choice.
