Joanna Waite, 87, of Jersey Shore passed away into the presence of her Lord at midnight Friday September 21, 2018 at Valley View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Montoursville. She was born April 11, 1931 in Jersey Shore a daughter of Gilbert and Gertrude Campbell Waite. She was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School and the former Lock Haven State Teachers College. She was an English and reading teacher with the Jersey Shore School District for nearly 30 years retiring in 1984. She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church of Jersey Shore and for decades was the Church’s pianist. She loved her Church and family. Her survivors include 3 nieces: Kim Hile (Dennis) of Linden; Carolyn Wagner (Gurney) of Mill Hall and Bethany Waite of Denver, Col; one nephew Bradford Waite (Stephanie) of Denver, Col and her sister-in-law Joanne Waite of Denver, along with 3 great nephews and 4 great nieces. She was predeceased by her parents and a sister Jeanine Anderson and a brother Gilbert Waite. Joanna’s Life Tribute will be celebrated at 6PM Sunday, September 30, 2018 from the Calvary Baptist Church 315 Thompson St., Jersey Shore, PA 17740 with her Pastor Rev. Jeffrey Howell officiating.
