Jerry Llewellyn Colwell, 74, passed away August 28, 2018 at East Bank Center in Rockford, Illinois. Jerry was born in Fargo, North Dakota September 29, 1943, son of Llewellyn and Gladys (Olson) Colwell. He grew up and graduated from Fargo High School in 1961. Jerry worked for an automatic oil pipeline welding company as a technician in countries overseas. Jerry learned to play golf from his father, and he taught his own family to play golf. His last years in Rockford were spent visiting many health care providers and facilities for which he was very grateful. Survived by his sons, Jeret (Sare) Colwell by his first marriage to Patsy Ortego, 1967 in Anchorage, Alaska; and step-son Keith (Tammy) Fair by second marriage to Cheryl Stock Fair, 1981 in Moorhead, Minn. Keith and Tammy have two sons, Kyle and Patrick who live in Atlanta, Georgia. Jerry is also survived by two sisters, Kay (Keith) Rosengren, and Mary (Quentin) Erickson, and two nephews with two children. Memorial visitation and remembrance services will take place in Moorhead, Minnesota at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL 61108.
