OBITUARY James T. McHugh October 16, 1925 – August 29, 2018 Play Tribute Movie McHugh, James T. (92), born in Jamaica Plain, longtime resident of Norwood, also of Brant Rock Marshfield and Venice, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family August 29, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Sonia M. (Anderson) McHugh. Loving father of James M. McHugh and his wife Nancy of Attleboro, Brian McHugh and his wife Lauren of Norwood, Marie McHugh of Norwood and Mark McHugh and his husband Spencer Gordon of Westhampton. Cherished grandfather of Kimberly Reggiannini and her husband Peter of Norwood, Michelle McHugh of Norwood, Michael McHugh and his wife Stephanie of Melrose and Steven McHugh of Attleboro. Great-grandfather of Luke and Paloma. Brother of the late Nancy Gerry and Mary Flanagan and son of Sabina and Patrick McHugh of Ireland. Jim is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Jim proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII aboard the LCI-1017 and was deployed to the Philippines for 4 years. He was Commander of the American Legion Post 76, Jamaica Plain and longtime member of Post 0018, Dedham. He was employed 43 years at AT&T/New England Tel, and a member of the AT&T Pioneers Group. He was part of “America’s Greatest Generation”. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed traveling, singing, and performing for his friends at the Norwood Senior Center. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 10:00AM from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street, Norwood, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington Street, Norwood. Interment will follow Mass in Knollwood Cemetery, Canton. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 4:00-8:00pm in the funeral home.
