OBITUARY Ivylene “Ivy” Delores Scarpinato April 19, 1943 – August 28, 2018 Ivylene (Ivy) Scarpinato passed away on August 28, in Colleyville, Texas. Ivy will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and her warm outgoing personality. She was born on April 19, 1943 in Albion, New York to the late Ivyl and Rose Phillips. After high school in Albion, Ivy graduated from Brockport State University in New York with a degree in education. She taught elementary education in a number of communities in western New York. Teaching was a perfect fit for Ivy, she always loved young children and had an incredible ability to make learning fun. Most of all Ivy loved her family. She married Joe Scarpinato in 1969 and they were married for 49 years. While Joe’s career took them to many locations in the northeast, Ivy managed the home front; forgoing her teaching career to become a full time mother and homemaker. They had two children; Michelle Winkler of Westlake Village, California, and Derrik Scarpinato of Middleton, Delaware; and seven, amazingly beautiful and incredibly talented grandchildren, just ask Ivy. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She also loved to read. Ivy loved to play golf and go bowling with her friends, when she went with her husband, she would usually win. She also loved to travel. Ivy would travel from coast to coast. She often traveled to Delaware and California to see her children and grandkids. She also traveled frequently to her home in Marco Island, Florida and to Park City, Utah, to escape the Texas heat. In accordance with Ivy’s wishes, no formal services will be held to mourn her passing. Ivy’s wishes were that she be remembered as being outgoing, fun-loving and that all her friends remember her by the smile and laughter that made her special.
