Ira K Ken Norris 2018

Norris, Ira K. “Ken,” 80, a resident of Warwick for 50 years, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Rita Anne (Corrado) Norris for 53 years. Born in Roxboro, NC, he was a son of the late Ira C. and Emma (Grinstead) Norris. Ken was a Vietnam Army veteran. He worked as a food broker salesman for many years before retiring. Ken loved doo-wop and was a collector of records, comics, baseball cards, antique radios, jukeboxes, and Big Little Books. He was an avid UNC sports fan, primarily basketball. He received the “Craziest Sports Nut Award” by Fisher Nuts. Ken was also a great supporter of his grandchildren and all their activities. He was the loving father of Julie Anne Cyr and her husband, Jeffrey, Karen Pelletier, and Rebecca Pettinicchio and her husband, Alfred; devoted grandfather of Jamiesen and Jaden Cyr, Cole and Adam Pelletier, Emma, Carly, and Madeline Pettinicchio; brother-in-law of Pamela Corrado; brother of the late Ralph, Willard, and Robert Norris; and brother-in-law of the late Albert R. Corrado, Jr. Ken is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. His funeral will be Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 8:30 AM from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in St. Rita Church, Oakland Beach Ave., military honors to follow. Visiting hours Friday, September 14, 2018 from 4-7 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to the RI Veterans’ Cemetery Monday, September 17, 2018 at 10:15 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Rita Church, 722 Oakland Beach Ave., Warwick, RI 02889 will be appreciated.
