Obituary of Heinz Biewald NAUGATUCK – Heinz E. Biewald, 88, passed away Friday, September 7, 2018 at Beacon Brook Health Center. He was the husband of Hannelore (Schruff) Biewald who passed away in 2012. Mr. Biewald was born October 23, 1929 in Oppeln, Germany, the son of the late Paul and Frieda (Anlauf) Biewald. He was raised in Germany and had worked as a Beer Brewer before moving to the U.S. in 1956. Upon arriving in America, he resided in New York City before moving to New Haven in 1968. In addition to being a devoted husband he was known as being extremely active, gardening and working in the yard. He loved the outdoors and on sunny days would seldom be found inside. He was a big soccer fan and enjoyed playing cards and gathering with his family and friends. Mr. Biewald is survived by his sons Horst and his wife Linda of Hamden, Karl and his wife Susan of Naugatuck, Rainer of Naugatuck, Frank and his wife Heather of Oxford; his brother Adolf Biewald of AZ; his sisters Ruth Richter of Germany and Marianne Westcott of England; his 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Arrangements – Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Assoc., P.O. Box 718, Old Mystic, CT 06372.
