Obituary for Gary Edward Cooper Gary Edward Cooper of Thomasville, Georgia died September 18, 2018 at age 81. He is survived by his son, Blair Cooper (Kimberly) of Indian Trail, North Carolina and daughters Anne Blume (Kevin) of Gold Hill, North Carolina and Lynne Johnson (Craig) of Rockwell, North Carolina as well as numerous grandchildren and a great granddaughter. He was born in Salisbury, North Carolina. He enjoyed a full life as a life-long student, athlete, business executive and University teacher and administrator. He was a lifetime runner and competed in many marathons. He always strove for excellence and his accomplishments produced many awards and honors. He had a rich family history from England and early settlers to America who made notable contributions in military, government, legal and artistic endeavors. His remains will be cremated and his ashes scattered. A gathering of family and friends will follow. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Thomasville, GA. In lieu of flowers memorials made be made to Caring Hands Fund/ Presbyterian Home, PO Box 957267, Duluth, GA 3095 or Music Ministry Hymnals/ First Presbyterian Church. 225 E Jackson St, Thomasville, GA 31792.
