Obituary for Francis Foley Francis Edward Foley, 95, a lifelong resident of Amenia, NY, died on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at his home in Amenia, NY. Mr. Foley was a pharmacist at the Pleasant Valley Pharmacy and later at the Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center retiring in 1986. Born on January 4, 1923 in Amenia, NY he was the son of the late Edward P. and Gertrude (Cotter) Foley. Mr. Foley proudly served in the US Marine Corp. in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was a graduate of Albany College of Pharmacy class of 1950. Mr. Foley loved baseball and golf. He was inducted into the Dutchess County Baseball Hall of Fame. Mr. Foley was a member of the Amenia American Legion and VFW Post # 5444. Mr. Foley was a 71-year member of the Amenia Fire Company. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Amenia Chapter and a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Amenia. Mr. Foley is survived by four nephews, Dale, Jeffrey, Timothy and Richard Foley and a niece Carrie Beth Foley. In addition to his parents, Mr. Foley was predeceased by three brothers, Raymond, Donald and Richard Foley and a niece Pamela Foley. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Church, 4 Lavelle Road, Amenia, NY with Rev. R. Kent Wilson officiating.
