Donnie Lee Hoover, Sr., 70, of Crimora, passed away in Fishersville on Sunday, September 2, 2018. He was born on November 8, 1946 in Waynesboro to the late Mary Reed Forbes. Donnie is survived by a son, Don Hoover, II of Churchville; grandson, Donnie Hoover, III and his wife, Jess of Fishersville; granddaughter, Katie Hoover of Staunton; great granddaughter, Josie Leigh Hoover; brother, David Forbes of Waynesboro. Donnie was a self-employed painter contractor for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved his family very much. Family will receive friends from 3:00pm to 4:00pm on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville, VA 22939 and where a celebration of his life will be held 4:00pm in the chapel, conducted by Pastor Steve Woodson. Family will receive friends at other time at the home of his son, 28 Dry Branch Road, Churchville, VA 24421.
