Donald Palmer Vukich June 6 1944 September 16 2018 (age 74)

Donald Palmer Vukich 74 of Maiden died Sunday, September 16th, 2018 at Wake Forest Cancer Center. Born June 6th, 1944 he was the foster son of the late Tommy and Fern Thompson of Louisville, Ohio. He retired from the US Army. His daughters, Katherine and husband William Marez, Anna and husband Rick Privett of Maiden, and Kimberly Shirley of Maiden, son, Donald W. Vukich of Longview, eleven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren survive him. Special thanks to Sandra Haynes, Vanessa, Brittney, Jessica, Dr. Maynard Powell and the staff of the Wake Forest Comprehensive Cancer Center. In addition to his parents, his spouse, Alverta Vukich, two daughters, Betty Mathews, Karen Nicholas, his foster sisters Doris Thompson and June (Russell) Parretta and a grandson Jesse Bittner preceded him in death. The funeral will be 11:00 am Friday, September 21st, 2018 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kelly Parker officiating. The burial will be at 1:30 pm Friday, September 21st, 2018 at Crown Memorial Park in Pineville, North Carolina. The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm-9:00 pm Thursday, September 20th, 2018 at the Celebration Center of Jenkins Funeral Home.
