Demetra Georgopoulos of Silver Spring, MD, passed away peacefully on September 14th, 2018. Ms. Demetra “Toula” Georgopoulos was born in Vourvoura, Arcadia, Greece on July, 22nd 1929. She is preceded in death by her parents Sarantos and Ekaterini Georgopoulos, her brother Demetre Georgopoulos and her sisters Maria Tsioros and Panayiota Panopoulos. She is the beloved sister of Soula (the late John) Zavras, and adored sister in law of George Tsioros and Vasiliki Georgopoulos. She is the loving aunt to Katherine (Manoli) Tsimbidis, Patty (Kosta) Chakalakis, Pete (Frannie) Zavras, Stelios Tsioros, Sarantos (Jennifer) Georgopoulos, Kathy (John) Duckworth, and additional nieces and nephews abroad, as well as countless grandnieces and grandnephews. ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are welcome on Friday, September 21, for the viewing at 10:00am and the funeral at 11:00am at Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church of Washington, DC, 701 Norwood Road, Silver Spring, MD 20905. Interment will immediately follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
