Obituary for Dean Rodney Lambe Dean Rodney Lambe, Ph.D., on September 14, 2018, of Teaneck, age 74. Born October 31, 1943 in Seattle, Washington, to the late William Emil and Clara Frances (Pennock) Lambe, he is survived by his loving wife, Laurie A. Haldeman-Lambe, brother W. Boyce (Shirley) Lambe, sister Jeanne Eileen (Gary) Chadwick, nephews Bradley B. (Jeanie) Lambe, Rodney L. (Catherine) Lambe, Douglas W. (Lara) Chadwick, Daniel L. (Amy) Chadwick, and numerous cousins and great- nieces and nephews. Dean graduated from Whitman College, Walla Walla, Wash. with a degree in Psychology, and got his Ph.D. in Neurobiology at Duke University, in Durham, NC. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, taught psychology at Marietta College, Marietta, Ohio, and moved into the pharmaceutical industry where he worked at Wyeth-Ayerst and then Eisai Pharmaceuticals where he was Director of Medical Information during and after the introduction of Aricept ® , the first drug to successfully treat Alzheimer’s. He was also a professional writer, published in scientific journals, magazines, and fiction magazines and books, including “The Odysseus Solution” with Michael Banks. He belonged to many scientific and writing societies, including AMWA, The American Medical Writers Association, and SFWA, the Science Fiction Writers of America. The family will receive relatives and friends for a viewing on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, from 4PM to 8PM at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Rd., Teaneck. After cremation, he will be interred in the family plot in Edmonds Memorial Cemetery, Edmonds, Wash.
