David Lee Schrimsher 1946 2018

Obituary of David Schrimsher Rensselaer- David L. Schrimsher passed away on September 5th while on vacation at Wildwood, N.J. David was the son of the late James F. and Mildred M. Walker Schrimsher and the beloved companion of Jeanette May of Schenectady, who was with him at the time of his passing. David was retired from the State of New York, Department of Education and was an active member of the Trinity Church of Watervliet. Following his retirement, he was an avid volunteer for several organizations including several area food banks. In addition to his companion Jeanette, David is survived by his son David L. Schrimsher, Jr. (Selkirk), his brother Robert Schrimsher (Rensselaer), a granddaughter Krystal, great grandchildren as well many, many loving nieces and nephews including his nieces Gayle and Cindy who shared a special bond with their uncle. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings James, Richard (Ozark), William (Wimpy), Dorothy, Florence, Alice, Barbara and Thelma. A mass of resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 am at the Trinity Church of Watervliet, 1336 1st Avenue, Watervliet. Family and friends are invited to visit with David’s family from 9-11 at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Trinity Church of Watervliet would be appreciated. Burial will be in the Westerlo Rural Cemetery.

  1. I regret sincerely to have missed attending the funeral Services for David. At the time of the services I was attending a spiritual retreat in Emmitsburg MD. A condolence card will be sent to his home.It is my hope to have a special Memorial Service for him at the Cathedral Food Pantry where he was a very dedicated volunteer.
