David Lee Pawson, 74 of La Porte, Indiana passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 22, 2018. David was born on November 19, 1943, in Jackson, Michigan, the son of the late Charles Pawson and Wilda (Miller) Jolls. He retired from the United States Post Office in Gary, Indiana as a mail carrier. David is survived by his wife, Tanis (Carroll) who he married on May 23, 1981. Also surviving are children, Amy (Brent) Williams of Spring Arbor, Michigan; a son, David (Lisa) Pawson of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; a step-son, Ryan (Sue) Wagner of Valparaiso, Indiana; a step-daughter, Pamala Wagner of Chesterton, Indiana; grandchildren, Andrew & Lindsay Pawson, Lillian Kearby, Ashley Williams and Grace Wagner; and a sister-in-law, Judy Pawson. His brother, Roger Pawson preceded him. David was a member and Past Master of the Freemasons Acme Lodge #83 F&AM in Michigan City, Indiana, the Orak Shriner’s of Michigan City, The Wall Gang in Michigan City, and volunteered at the La Porte Hospital and the CASA Program. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana, where a Masonic service will follow at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana Masonic Home Foundation 525 N.
