David B Dave Sutton 1937 2018

Obituary for David B. “Dave” Sutton David B. “Dave” Sutton, 81, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday September 16, 2018 following a period of declining health. Born February 15, 1937 in Franklin, North Carolina to the late Mont and Mary Sutton, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 11 years having moved from Forsyth County. Dave was a 1955 graduate of Cumming High School and attended Georgia Tech. He formerly owned and operated Sutton Construction Specialty Company which was the oldest privately owned construction supply business in Georgia. He was also a co-owner of DX2, Geosyntex, Inc. Mr. Sutton was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, was an avid golfer and possessed a great love of his dogs and classic cars. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Ruth Sutton, Dawsonville; daughter and son in law, Susan and Greg Pickren, Dawsonville; sister, Nancy Richardson, Gainesville; brothers and sister in law, Michael Sutton, Decatur, AL, Richard and Beam Sutton, Cedartown; and a number of other relatives. A celebration of his life will be held Sunday September 23, 2018 at 3 o’clock at Bethel United Methodist Church. Dr. David Sanders and Dr. Orin Sampson will officiate. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bethel United Methodist Church Building Fund, 100 Lumpkin Campground Road South, Dawsonville, GA 30534, or Homestead Hospice, 1080 Holcomb Bridge Road, Building 200, Suite 100, Roswell, GA 30076.
