Clayton Jones age 89, of Crestview passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Carrington Manor. He was born on November 8, 1928, to J.G. and Mae Etell Jones. Clayton worked for civil service and retired after 36 years. Everyone at work knew him as “Whistler”. He was a member of the Church of Christ and he served his country in the United States Army. Clayton loved to build things and loved woodworking. He could build anything, clocks, cabinets, and guns. Clayton was preceded in death by his parents and his wives Ennis Jones and Mazie B. Jones. Survivors include 5 stepsons, 4 brothers: Granville Jones and wife Arvenia, Levon Jones, John Jones and wife Loretta, and Larry Jones; 2 sisters: Linda Smith and husband Ray and Bobbie Andujar and husband Andy. The celebration of Clayton’s life will be on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at 12:00 p.m. at the Airport Road Church of Christ with burial to follow in the Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery. A time of visitation with the family will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Airport Road Church of Church.
