Claudette Brown 2018

Claudette M. (Tondreau) Brown, 81, of Scituate, was welcomed into the kingdom of heaven on September 8, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife for 41 years to the late Benjamin F. Brown before his passing in 2011. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Leo J. Tondreau and Eva (Quimette) Tondreau. She was brought up and lived in North Providence, along with her husband Benjamin, she raised her family in Smithfield prior to moving to Scituate 18 years ago. She was a graduate of North Providence High School, worked for Rhode Island College and the University of Rhode Island until retiring in 2001. She was a devoted member of Saint Joseph’s Church in North Scituate, loved traveling with friends and family and playing cards every Tuesday night. She was an exhibiter at the Scituate Art Festival for 15 years. She was a loving and caring person who put the needs of others before her own. Her kind, nurturing personality made her a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all that were lucky enough to share in her life. She will be deeply missed by her children Stephen Brown and his wife Kimberly, William Brown and daughter Sheri Hamel-Brown and her husband Dennis Hamel. She was the loving grandmother to Claudia, Noah and Abby Brown, step granddaughters Alyssa Gavlik, Victoria Hamel and step grandson Dante Hamel. She was the sister of Raymond Tondreau and the late Leo and Paul Tondreau. Her funeral will be held Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 8:45am from the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Pike (Rt.44) Greenville, a Mass of Christian Burial celebrating her life will be held at 10am in Saint Joseph’s Church, Danielson Pike, N. Scituate. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 12, 2018 from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904 will be appreciated.
