Mr. Charles Andrew Carter, 81, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018. Charles was born in Cumberland County on December 30, 1936 in Cumberland County, NC to the late Woodrow Wilson Carter and Mageline Koonce Carter. He was retired from the US Air Force as a Master Sergeant. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by 4 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his former wife, Pat Carter of Fayetteville; a son, Denver Carter and his wife Donna of Bessemer City; 3 daughters, Donna Clark and her husband Aaron of Fayetteville, Tina Hall of Hope Mills, Kim Starling and her husband Randy of Fayetteville; 4 brothers, Stacy Carter of Parkton, Max Carter of Fayetteville, Rocky Carter and Mitchell Carter, both of Rennert; 5 sisters, Betty Reider of Black Mountain, Linda Yochim of Melbourne, Fl., Gail Morrison of Mt. Holly, Sue Bennett and Dottie Carter, both of Lumberton and a host of extended family members. Visitation will be 2:00 PM-3:00 PM Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Lafayette Funeral Home. A Memorial service will begin at 3:00 PM following the visitation with Reverend Bill Cavalier officiating. Arrangements for the family are entrusted to LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd.
