Obituary for Mrs. Betty Scott Batey Mrs. Betty Scott Batey, age 88, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018 in Gallatin, Tennessee. Betty was born to Lonnie and Effie (Copeland) Scott on October 24, 1929 in Hot Springs, New Mexico. Betty was the Head nurse for the American Red Cross at General Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband William E. Batey; and grandchildren Ansley Ford Batey and Mark Scott Kolomba. She is survived by her sons Roger D. (Lee Ann) Batey and John M. Batey; daughters Linda B. (Mike) McGinnes, Lisa B. (Kenneth) Elam, and Sharon Leigh Batey. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Anna Batey Gilliam, William Parker Batey, Lila B. Logsdon, Emily M. Galley, Melissa M. (Gentry) Hale, and Anna Lee Batey. In addition, she is survived by 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 12pm-2pm. Services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 in the Chapel at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to a charity of one’s choice.
