Obituary for Barry Gallagher NEW BERN, NC – Barry Scott Gallagher, 67, a resident of New Bern, NC since 2002, died on September 18, 2018 at home. Born in Cold Spring on January 10, 1951, he was the son of the late Joseph F. and Vera (Sutherland) Gallagher. He graduated from John Jay High School in 1970 and Dutchess Community College in 1972. Barry then graduated from SUNY Potsdam in 1974 and worked at IBM until his retirement in 2000. Survivors include his siblings, Jon Gallagher & his wife Bernice of Cornwall-on-Hudson, Colleen Dunay of Fishkill, Dennis Gallagher of LaGrangeville, Kathleen Sztumerski & her husband Gary of Fishkill, Mickey Gallagher of Staatsburg, and Terry Gallagher & his wife Janet of Sugarloaf, PA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends. In addition to his parents, Barry was predeceased by his sister, Maureen Gallagher in March. A graveside service will be held at 11am on Thursday, October 4th at St. Joachim Cemetery, 325 Washington Avenue, Beacon. Arrangements are under the direction of the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill.
