Autumn Marie Hancock Ditonto 2018

Autumn Marie Hancock Ditonto, 47, (also known as April, Amber, or Hurricane), passed away Monday September 24, 2018, at home after 13 years of fighting Melanoma. Autumn was born November 29, 1970, daughter of the late Marty and Gloria Hancock and was a resident of Warren all her life. Autumn graduated from Warren Area High School in 1988 where she lettered in softball, a sport she enjoyed even after high school. She met the love of her life, Patrick Ditonto, in November 1988. They dated and finally got married on October 15, 1993, at St. Joseph Church, and that’s when the love story started. Autumn joined the workforce and was employed at numerous places including Blair DC, both Blair outlet stores, Koebley Towing and most recently, Deerfield Behavioral Health. Autumn also had a special place in her heart for all animals especially her special little guy, Chewy, who would always be by her side and couldn’t wait for her to get home from work so they could be together. In addition to her husband, Autumn is survived by her sister and partner in crime, Heidi Ekey, with whom she had a very special bond; brother-in-law, Dana she would make him laugh just so she could see his beautiful smile; two nephews, Noah and Cy Powley – she loved them more than anything in the world and always treated them as her own; loving in-laws Angelo and Betty Ditonto; a sister-in-law Pam Ditonto; two half-sisters Marlene Rowley and Gail Bidwell; three half-brothers, Kelly, Willy, and Dean Wilcox; and several aunts and uncles and cousins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a half-brother, Randy. If she had the chance these would probably be her final words to us: So…I was born; I blinked; and it was over. No buildings named after me; no monuments erected in my honor. But I did have the chance to know and love each and every friend as well as all my family members. How much more blessed can a person be? So, in the end, remember…do your best, follow your arrow, and make something amazing out of your life. Oh, and never stop smiling. If you want to, you can look for me in the evening sunset or with the earliest spring daffodils or amongst the flitting and fluttering butterflies. You know I’ll be there in one form or another. Of course, that will probably comfort some while antagonizing others, but you know me…it’s what I do. I’ll leave you with this…please don’t cry because I’m gone; instead be happy that I was here. Today I am happy and I am dancing. Probably naked. Love you forever. Friends may call at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, 1003 Penn. Ave. E., Warren, on Friday, September 28, from 5-8 p.m. and for one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service to be held at Pleasant Community Church, 673 Pleasant Dr., Warren, with Pastor Michael Poindexter officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Care Center of Warren, 2 Crescent Park, Warren PA 16365.
