Alice R Updegraff Spicher Rishar 1921 2016

Obituary for Alice Updegraff Spicher (Rishar) Alice Rishar Updegraff Spicher, 95, of Middletown, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016, in Frey Village, Middletown. Born in Mount Carmel on July 13, 1921, she was the daughter of Peter and Mary Lekekas Rishar. Alice devoted her life to being a caring and giving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Harrisburg. Alice loved to crochet and bake. A gentle-mannered woman, Alice touched the lives of everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Nevin R. Updegraff and Jay C. Spicher; a son, Norman Updegraff; and a daughter, Mary J. Beshore. Alice is survived by one daughter, Alice L. Nau wife of John F. Nau, Jr. of Hummelstown; one son, Glen L. Updegraff husband of Ann Marie of Lewisberry; two sisters, Margaret Ebersole of Middletown, and Laura Zuvich wife of Thomas of Camp Hill; six grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 6, 2016, at 12:00 noon in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Dr. S. Ronald Parks, Calvary United Methodist Church, Harrisburg, officiating. Interment will be in the Middletown Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday in the funeral home from 11 AM until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions made to the Bethesda Mission, P.O.
