Alex Nicholas Rankin, 26, died Saturday, September 22, 2018. Alex was born December 13, 1991 in Columbia, SC, son of Alex Benjamin Rankin and Linda McDaniel Webb. He attended school in Johnsonville, Pamplico, and Clemson. He was a 2016 graduate of Tri-County Technical College in Pendleton with a degree in HVAC and Refrigeration. Alex was working for New Electric Industrial Contractors out of Charlotte, NC. He loved his family, his friends, music, animals and being outdoors. He also loved his Clemson Tigers. Surviving are his mother and step-father, Linda (Joe) Webb of Johnsonville; dad and step-mom, Ben (Nancy) Rankin of Brevard, NC; son, Peyton; grandmother, Margie McDaniel of Johnsonville; grandfather, Bob Rankin of Columbia; grandmother, Margaret Webb of Garden City; sisters, Adrienne (Ben) Burris of Greenville, Megan (David) Wallace of Pamplico and Heather (Bobby) Webb of Brandywine, MD; brothers, James Swanson and David Swanson, both of Atlanta, GA; nephews, Isaiah Burris and Ethan Wallace; and niece, Savanna Wallace. Alex was preceded in death by his grandparents, June Rankin, William McDaniel and B. Jack Webb. Memorial service celebrating the life of Alex will be 12:00 PM, Saturday 29, 2018 at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton, SC. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, at the funeral home, prior to the services.
