OBITUARY Thomas F Purcell October 22, 1928 – August 7, 2018 Thomas F. Purcell, 89, of Toms River, NJ, passed away on Tuesday August 7, 2018 at Green Acres Manor in Toms River. Born in Bloomfield, NJ, he lived in Cedar Grove for over 30 years before moving to Toms River 23 years ago. Tom worked for the Bendix Corporation for 35 years retiring in 1993. He was formerly active with the Old Guard of Toms River. Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Marie Fallivene Purcell; two daughters, Susan Karas and her husband Dean and Barbara Purcell and her husband Geoff Stamm; his niece Carol DiGiacomo; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday August 9, 2018 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday August 10, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church. Entombment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park 1722 Silverton Road Toms River, NJ 08753. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
