Norma L Keyser June 10 1931 August 3 2018 (age 87)

Norma Louise Keyser of Wintersville, Ohio, passed away on Friday, August 3 at Trinity West Hospital. She has been reunited with the love of her life and husband of 68 years, John D. Keyser, Sr., who she married on July 20, 1946. Norma was born on June 10, 1931 in Steubenville, the daughter of the late James and Mary Taylor. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bob Taylor and Bill Taylor, and granddaughter, Jessica Keyser. She is survived by her four devoted sons, David (Suzanne) Keyser of Richmond; Wendell (Margaret) Keyser of Toronto; Sam (Dinah) Keyser of East Springfield; and Gary (Jo Anne) Keyser of Wintersville; siblings, Mildred Link, Eleanor Painter, Jean Needham, Mary Lou Kosikowski, Jim Taylor, Clarence Taylor, and Don Taylor; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Norma married a soldier recently returned from his service in Europe. Like so many others from the Greatest Generation, they built a life together in the post-war years raising their four sons in the Wintersville area. In 1980, Norma established Keyser Silk Florists and began her second career as an artist and entrepreneur. Beginning with arrangements made for family and friends, Keyser Silk Florists expanded over 30 years to provide a full array of floral arrangement and wedding planning services. Norma’s business took her to weddings all over the eastern United States. She was deeply thankful to have shared in the special day of more than 500 couples and for the many other area customers who enjoyed her special holiday and seasonal creations. Norma loved fishing and camping at Tappen Lake, watching old movies, and listening to country music. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the Wintersville United Methodist Church and her favorite charity was the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home on 685 Canton Road, Wintersville on Tuesday, August 7 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and again on Wednesday from 10 a.m until time of celebration and remembrance of her life at 11 a.m. Pastor Clint Quillen presiding.
