Obituary for Lewis Franklin Hargrave Lewis Franklin Hargrave, 70, of Hamilton Rd., was called to his eternal home on July 27, 2018 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Lewis was born April 8, 1948 in Lexington, North Carolina to Hugh Sterling “Bill” Holt and Reba Hargrave Quarles and was reared by Hugh Holt, Bessie Holt and Linell Johnson. He attended Dunbar High School and Shaw University and was a member of Files Chapel Baptist Church where he served on many boards. He served in the United States Army 82nd Airborne Division and Green Beret. Lewis worked at Duracell Battery as a supervisor and retired from Phillip Morris USA. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ivory Johnson and five sisters: Paulette Hargrave, Robin Irving, Mary Hargrave, Henrietta Burns and Bernice Bittings. He has left to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Treva T. Hargrave; a daughter, Yasmin Hargrave; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a brother, Brian “Pap” Burns; six sisters: Cynthia Dickerson, Elaine Rector, Katrina Burns, Trudy (William) Woodberry, Bettie Jean (Jimmy) Hailey and April Owens and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be Thursday at Files Chapel Baptist Church at 11:00 am with family visitation at 10:30. Burial will follow at Salisbury National Cemetery at 1:00pm.
