Rita A. Carr, 75, of Garrett, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Garrett. Rita was born Feb. 4, 1943, in Fort Wayne to Warren and Margaret (Brown) Lee. Her father preceded her in death and her mother survives in Fort Wayne. She married Edwin J. Carr on June 3, 1972, in Fort Wayne, and he survives in Garrett. Rita was the co-owner and operator of Healthcare Billing Solutions in Garrett. She was a member of the First Church of Christ in Garrett. Rita loved to garden, work, read, knit, crochet, sing and play cards, especially Uno and euchre, but her true passion in life was spending time with her family. Also surviving are three children and their spouses, Scott Carr of Albion, Cathy and Jody Neuhaus of Kendallville, and Jennifer and Bob Putt of Auburn; six grandchildren, Austin Gilbert, Kimberly Neuhaus, Christopher Neuhaus, Alexander Neuhaus, Zachary Seban and Emily Seban; two great-grandchildren, Gannon Wicker and Oceana Gilbert; and a sister, Susie Britton of Fort Wayne. A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at First Church of Christ, 213 E. King St., Garrett, with Brother Bud Owen officiating. Memorials may be directed to the First Church of Christ or the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.
