Obituary for Kenneth A. Koehler Of Shorewood, passed away at his residence, Tuesday, August 21, 2018. Age 84 years. Survived by two daughters Gwen Eungard and Dawn (Craig) Nemitz, a son Kurt (Mary) Koehler. Six grandchildren Bret (Karla), Daniel (Ashley), Glen, Kyle, Erin and Kara. A great-granddaughter Penelope Jayne. A sister Beverly C. Barnett. Preceded in death by his wife Artis V. Koehler (nee Moore) (2014), a son-in-law Wayne T. Eungard (2013), a brother Melvin B. Koehler and his parents Arnold G. and Elly C. Koehler. Ken was a lifelong Joliet and Shorewood resident. Graduate of Joliet Township High School Class of 1952. He retired from Joliet Cabinet Co. then worked as a self-employed carpenter. Member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #300. Ken had a great love of Lionel trains and a passion for repairing and restoring pre-war Lionel transformers. Member of several model train organizations. Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Wednesday, August 29th at 10:30 A.M. Rev. Matt Robinson officiating. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice will be appreciated.
