She was born June 25, 1935, in Rosedale, Louisiana, to Alma and Sidney Britt. She worked for International Paper Company in Springhill, LA, for 10 years before moving to Plain Dealing in 1972 where she enjoyed being a supportive, loving wife and devoted mother. She and her family became very active in Plain Dealing Baptist Church where Jo taught Sunday School until two years ago. She also served on numerous committees in the church. Her family and many friends remember her as a Bible scholar, a prayer warrior, and one who shared her faith wherever she went. Studying the Bible individually and in groups was a favorite activity in her life, and she recently declared that she hoped to regain her health so that she could continue to study the Bible. Besides her faith, her passion in life was her family. Their loving names for her included Aunt Jo, Grandmother, and most recently and most treasured, G-G, by great-grandson, Taylor. Jo was preceded in death by her parents of Taylor, Arkansas, and her sister, Mob Guillot, of Houston, Texas. Survivors who cherish her memory and her legacy are her husband of 52 years, Joe Arnold; daughter, Jo Ellen Griggs, and husband Gary of Bossier City; granddaughter Elizabeth Wicker and husband Justin of Bossier City; great-grandson Taylor Wicker; brother, Dr. Richard Britt and wife Melba of Magnolia, AR; nieces and nephews Bill Britt, Brad Britt, Linda Carney, Becky Cortese, Burt Guillot, Sandra Mikush, Susan Gumina, Scott Carney; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Griggs, Justin Wicker, Taylor Wicker, Bill Britt, Brad Britt, Jeremy Stewart, Scott Carney, and John Hayes. The family would like to thank the fourth floor nursing staff at Willis Knighton Bossier, especially Jennifer, Taylor, and Travis. They also extend special thanks to Dr. Raghu Nathan, and Paul Meyers, P.A., for their fourteen years of compassionate care and to Dr. Joseph Tynes and Dr. Patrick Deere for their loving care as well.
