Obituary for James Thomas James E. Thomas 72 of Rillton, died Tuesday August 7, 2018 in the UPMC East, Monroeville. He was born March 21, 1946 in Pittsburgh, He was the son of the late Robert W. Sr. and Dorothy Schmitt Thomas. Prior to his retirement, James was employed as a heavy equipment engineer for the Operating Engineers Union Local # 66 of Pittsburgh; He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the US Army, a member of the St. Edward Church of Herminie, Jim was a member and past treasurer of the Rillton Volunteer Fire Department. Surviving are his wife of 46 yrs. Patricia McGreevy Thomas, two daughters, Carrie Thomas and her wife Heather Nabozny of Royal Oak, MI and Brenda Krumenaker and her husband Ken of Lowber. Five grandchildren, Jakob, Maggie, Alexandra, Aubrey, and Kenzie. Sisters, Barbara Wible of Sterling, VA, Laura Abraham of New Stanton, Louise King of Charlottesville, VA, and a brother, Robert W. Thomas Jr. of Greensburg, and Several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Ott Funeral Home Inc. 805 Pennsylvania Ave. Irwin on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Parting prayers will take place on Saturday at 9:15 AM in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in the St. Edward Church, Herminie.
