Obituary for Jack Ray Fisher Jack Ray Fisher, age 88, of Spring Lake passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018, at home with his family and music around him. He was born March 25, 1930, in Spring Lake, to Everett and Lizzie (Bolthouse) Fisher, and married Mary Elaine Peck on May 6, 1961, in Grand Haven. Jack was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Spring Lake, and served his country in the Army. He was a cabinet maker for Bastian Blessing until they closed and retired from Custom Wood Source in Coopersville. Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and music. Many a summer he made his way to the Evart Dulcimer Festival in July. He enjoyed many jam nights at the Farm Museum in Coopersville, Wolf Lake Church, and many other jam sessions along the way. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Fisher of Spring Lake; two daughters, Susan (Dale) Taylor of Grand Haven, and Amy (John) Malek of Norton Shores; son, Daniel (Rhonda) Fisher of Nunica; nine grandchildren: Liz (Brian) Timmer, Wade Griffin, Sarah Griffin, Laura (David Swadley) Griffin, Justin Malek, Andrew Malek, Wendie (Dr. Mark) Benedict, Danielle (Aaron) Covert, and Kate Fisher; one great-grandchild, Reese Timmer; two sisters, Nancy Bartels of Holland and Donna Gelderman of Spring Lake; sister-in-law, Lynn (Keith Wood) Peck of Coogee, Australia; brother-in-law, Leonard (Ellen) Peck of Spring Lake; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by infant son, Ricky Fisher, two sisters, Joyce Rodrigues and Carol Rasinske, four brothers-in-law, Al Rodrigues, Rolland Bartels, William “Bim” Gelderman, and Ed Rasinske. The funeral for Jack will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Spring Lake with Rev. Michael Goers officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Charles A. Conklin American Legion Post # 28 Honor Guard. Friends may meet the family from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Nunica Cemetery.
