Mr. Charles A. “Chip” Gladhill, 80, a resident of Quincy Village, Quincy, PA passed away the morning of Tuesday, August 28, 2018 in the nursing home. Born August 15, 1938 in Waynesboro, PA he was the son of the late Charles H. and Ethel F. (Sanders) Gladhill. He was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area. Mr. Gladhill was a proud graduate of the Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the Class of 1957. He was employed as a bartender for 30 years at the William Max McLaughlin VFW Post #695, the Eagles Club, and most recently the Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15 all in Waynesboro. Mr. Gladhill worked up until his stroke at the American Legion in August of 2012. Mr. Gladhill was a member of the William Max McLaughlin VFW Post #695, the Eagles Club, the Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15, and the Sons of the American Legion all in Waynesboro. He was also an avid Washington Redskins fan. He is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Robinson and her husband Roy of Hedgesville, WV and Pamela Robertson and her husband Charles of Riverview, FL; his longtime companion, Nancy Burkett of Waynesboro; her children Amanda Wagner and her husband Robert of Waynesboro and Samuel Burkett and his wife Sara of Mont Alto, PA; and six grandchildren, Megan and Kathryn Robinson, Olivia and Carolyn Robertson, Hannah Wagner, and Lucas Burkett. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Catherine Gladhill. A memorial service will be held 6:30 P.M., Friday, September 14, 2018 in St. Andrew Catholic Church, 12 N. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Rev. Robert Malagesi, MSSCC. There will be no public viewing. Burial will take place in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro at a later date.
