Yates Kenneth Warlick, Sr., 85, of Lawndale, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Newton. Born in Cleveland County on August 12, 1932, he was a son of the late Boyd Thurman Warlick and Annie London Warlick. Mr Warlick was a retired farmer and school teacher having worked for Cleveland County Schools. He was a member of Carpenter’s Grove Baptist Church. Also, he was a charter member of the Casar Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 342 and Casar Volunteer Fire Department. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Thurman Warlick and Daniel Warlick and a sister, Ostine W. West. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Marlie Dean Lail Warlick; son, Kenny Warlick and wife, Monda of Lawndale; daughter, Pam Grantt of North Wilkesboro; sister, Sue W. Boles of Lawndale; five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home, Fallston. The funeral service will be on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at Carpenter’s Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Welch officiating. The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery with masonic graveside rites.
