Obituary for Wayne D. Christen Wayne D. Christen, 73, of Assonet, MA passed away on July 11, 2018, in his home after an illness. He was the husband of Elaine (Deschenes) Christen. Born in Rockford, IL, a son of the late Henry Christen and the late Margaret (Nolan) Christen, he lived in Assonet for the past 40 years. Mr. Christen was a Vietnam War era veteran of the US Navy, and later worked as a materials supervisor for Boston Scientific in Mansfield and Milford, MA; and retired from New Bedford Welding Supply. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son Michael Christen and his wife Dawn of Carver; a daughter, Denise Steber and her husband Paul of W. Kingstown, RI; a sister Donna Mills and her husband Donald of Rockford, IL; three grandchildren Chloe Christen, Connor Christen and P.J. Steber and nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Richard Christen. His funeral will be held Monday, July 16, 2018, at 9 AM, from the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at 10:30, in St. Bernard’s Church, 30 S. Main St., Assonet, MA 02702. Burial will follow in Cedar Knoll Cemetery, Taunton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours Sunday 5-8 PM. Memorial donations may be made to St. Bernard’s Church.
