Obituary for Virginia Myrle Talbot Virginia Myrle (Stevison) Talbot, born on July 18, 1936 in Wayne Co. Mississippi, passed away on June 25, 2018 in Abita Springs, Louisiana. She was the loving wife of the late Camile Talbot for 60 years. Theirs was a lifelong love affair. They were often referred to as “Honey and Honey” because they never called each other by name. Together they nurtured their family with laughter and love. After returning to school in her 40’s, Virginia worked as a nurse in New Orleans, LA until retiring to Bay St Louis, MS in 1988. She relocated to Abita Springs after Hurricane Katrina took their home in 2005. Virginia was the faithful caretaker for Camile in his last years. Virginia lives on through the love of her son, Maurice Talbot; daughters, Meloney Adams, Collette Falgout, and Michelle Kelsey; brother, Bobby and sisters, Sandra and Ruby. She will be missed by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with her loving nieces and nephews and close friends. Virginia also leaves behind her greatly loved cat and companion, Peaches. She and Camile influenced their children with their love of the outdoors and travel. With their tribe in tow, they traversed most of North America throughout the 1970s, camping in a DIY converted van decades before the #VANLIFE movement. Their adventures created priceless family memories. In more recent times, Virginia enjoyed puzzles, playing cards, reading and above all, being with her family! She kept a journal, recording daily family events. She filled volumes with the joys and concerns of a loving mother. She closed every entry in gratitude with the words “Thank God for this Day!” Her family would like to extend a special thanks to Virginia’s care team, Vicki, Marianne and Stephanie, along with the nurses at Compassus Hospice.
