Obituary for Thomas Haag Thomas H. Haag, age 80, of Reynoldsville, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 5, 2018, at UPMC Altoona Hospital in Altoona, PA. Tom was born on December 10, 1937 to the late Herbert L. and Cathleen (Bonnett) Haag in Brady Twp., PA. He graduated from the Troutville High School. He is an honorably discharged Veteran of the United States Air Force. On June 1, 1960, Tom married his wife Janet (Snyder) Haag who preceded him in death on June 2, 2002. He is a retired employee of Tri-Angle Auto Springs located in DuBois, PA. In addition to his regular job, he also drove school bus for E.D. Reitz Bus Company. Tom raised bird dogs for over thirty-five years of his life. He spent so much time and effort he was awarded both state and national titles for his dogs. Not only did he raise the bird dogs, he enjoyed taking them out to hunt as well. He was a member of the Beaver Meadow Field Trial Association. Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, but above all he was an avid Harley Davidson motorcycle rider. He enjoyed riding his own Harley and would travel long distances on it. He was said to be, “One of the best friends that anyone could have”. Tom is survived by his two daughters; Brenda (Rick) Shaffer of DuBois, PA; and Patti (Bob) Adams of Reynoldsville, PA; two brothers; Larry (Jan) Haag of Punxsutawney, PA; and Darrell (Marilyn) Haag of DuBois, PA; one grandson; Travis Pierce; one granddaughter; Nikki Pierce; two great-grandsons; Max and Mason Isaacs; and one great-granddaughter; Morgan Pierce. In addition to his parents and wife, Tom is preceded in death by two sisters; Peggy Schaffer and Ruth Pierce. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, July 8, 2018, from 5 – 8pm at the Snyder – d’Argy Funeral Home, 206 E Main St, Reynoldsville, PA 15851. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018, also at the funeral home, beginning at 11:00am and officiated by Pastor Ben Austin. Full military honors will be performed by the DuBois Area Honor Guard. Interment will take place at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Winslow Twp., PA. Memorial contributions can be made in Tom’s name to the Hahne Cancer Center or any local VFW of choice.   1. Sorry to hear of your loss I send my sympathy & prayers to his family as I knew him growing up & was such a good friend. We knew Marilyn & Darrell as well. I am Donna Knarr Hann our farm was across from the Town Tavern at Stump Creek. May he RIP & will be remembered by all.
