Susan Lynn Morriss Shaw, 55, of Hannibal, Missouri, passed away at 11:39 PM Monday, July 9, 2018 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Chaplain Mark Burkey, Pastor Jason Young, and Rev. Wayne LaForce will officiate. Susan was born September 26, 1962, in Hannibal, MO to Nolan Berdell and Rebecca “Becky” Stith Morriss. She was married to Terry D. Shaw on May 18, 2007 in Hannibal MO. He survives. Other survivors include her children, Emily Mitchell (fiancé, Jami Rosenburg) of Hannibal, MO, Eric Mitchell of Columbia, MO, Terry Shaw, Jr. (Crystal) of Sanford, FL, Tommy Shaw (Ashley) of Louisiana, MO, Ashley Shaw of Tampa, FL, and Amber Shaw of Sanford, FL; her adopted daughter, Autumn Ruhr; her mother, Rebecca “Becky” Morriss, and one brother Jeff Morriss of Hannibal, MO. She is also survived by her nieces, Katie Morriss of Kansas City, MO and Samantha Shaw of Middletown, MO, and grandchildren, Mariah Rosenburg, Abby Shaw, Madison Shaw, Blake Shaw, Raden Shaw and Jayde Shaw. She is preceded in death by her father Nolan Berdell Morriss. Professionally Susan worked for Walmart for many years where she started in the shoe department and infants and then later she worked in the bakery. Susan loved seeing her “Wal-Mart babies”. She enjoyed taking care of her garden and making flower arrangements. Susan also liked visiting the antique malls and collecting red glass dishes. Susan took pleasure in painting and drawing, especially Hannibal scenes. She loved to watch DYI, Home Improvement, and NCIS episodes. Susan was also a fan of the Hallmark Channel. Most of all, Susan loved her family dearly and enjoyed the time she was able to spend with them. Susan attended the Hannibal First Church of the Nazarene. Memorial contributions may be made to James E. Cary Cancer Center. Pallbearers will be Jeff Morriss, Jami Rosenburg, Tommy Shaw, Jody Cook, David Brooks, and Michael Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Mitchell, Terry Shaw, Jamie Shaw, Mike Shaw, Ernie Cook, Jim Cook, Terry Stith, Don Stith, and Larry Morriss.
